open science for biomedical research

Open science involves sharing research methods and results throughout the life cycle of a project. The goal of this website is to collect and disseminate information to enable open science practices. The audience is primarily members of the Biohub research community, with resources selected to meet their needs in particular, although other members of the biomedical research community may also find the resources useful. All reference materials included here are freely available.
All CZI Science activities became a part of Biohub in November 2025. Although some pages in this website may still reference CZI, we are gradually updating this language to Biohub.
Each of the main sections of this site are framed with examples of the general questions we handle when applying open science approaches. If you are looking for general information about open science, we recommend viewing the Resources section first.
Additional services may be available to labs and projects who are currently funded by Biohub; please see our Biohub grantees page for more information. Any current or former CZI work, including grant-funded projects, are now a part of Biohub as well.
This 5 minute video includes an overview of this website, and is also available on our channel.
